Charles Sturt University
Acceptable Use Policy

A few ground rules.

Your site is yours to run. These are the shared rules that keep the service open for everyone — the short version, in plain terms.

Version 2026-07-01

Use it for your own work. Build a portfolio, a research site, a class project, a blog. It's for teaching, learning, research and the creative work of the Charles Sturt community.

Keep it lawful and respectful. No content that's illegal, harassing, or infringes someone else's rights. You're responsible for what you publish.

Don't resell or misuse it. The space is for you, not for reselling hosting, sending spam, mining, or running services that put the shared servers at risk.

Membership keeps it live. Your site stays up while you're a current student or staff member. If your membership lapses we'll email you first, with time to sort it out or take your data.

We're here to help. Questions or trouble? The Service Desk can help — we'd rather talk it through than switch anything off.

What happens if your membership lapses

We check membership at sign-in and once a day. If it lapses, your site is suspended after a grace period, moved to pending deletion some time after that, and only removed — with a verified backup taken first — after a further period. You'll get email warnings before each step, and a "request review" option if you think it's a mistake.
